LIBRARY
Mother Mary School strives to serve your children better each year
with continuous upgrade of our school library. Children have come
to accept certain rules of conduct while in the library. If books
are borrowed, they are to be returned on time and in the condition
they were issued. Students must return their books before another
book can be checked out of the library.
Books damaged or lost most be paid for by the borrower.
Encyclopedias and other periodicals are not for circulation. Any
reference books or materials must be checked through the library
aide or teacher before circulation is permitted. In addition to
books and reference materials, Mother Mary School offers a large
selection of video tapes of computer programs for Apple and
McIntosh Computers and a large selection of video tapes on a wide
variety of subjects. Please consult your child's teacher for more
information on use of these materials.
HOMEWORK
Homework is essential for the full scholastic development of a
child. Children are expected to do a reasonable amount of home
study. It is the responsibility of the parent to supervise this
work, being careful, however, not to promote dishonesty or
forestall learning which results from actually doing the homework
for the child. Students at Mother Mary School receive no more than
1 1/2 hour of homework per evening (primary children have less).
Homework is not given as a punishment, but as home study for
lessons taught in school. When considering homework, assignments
should extend learning, build independent study habits and
encourage children to think and work creatively outside of school. |
