Mother Mary School, as a Catholic School, integrates education with Christian values of love and life based on the principles of the Gospel.

We highly esteem the partnership we share with parents whose role is explicitly stated in
Vatican II Declaration on Christian Education as follows:

...We have a most solemn obligation to educate these offspring. Hence, parents must be acknowledged as the first and foremost educators of their children. Their role as educators is so decisive that scarcely anything can compensate for their failure, for it devolves on parents to create a family atmosphere so animated with love and reverence for God and man that a well-rounded personal and social development will be fostered among the children...

The Vatican 11 Declaration on Christian Education further reminds parents to:

  • Have respect for human dignity, prayer, and acknowledgment authority as Essential for Christian citizenship.
  • Train their children in corporate worship, through family prayer, family participation in the Eucharistic celebration of the parish and the reception of The sacraments.
  • Participate in the building of the community and service of their parish and town.
The Mother Mary School Staff believes that all students can learn, We believe in educating all students with the quality curriculum resulting in high levels of academic performance, Our goals are to insure that all students demonstrate mastery of core skills and exhibit positive social-emotional behaviors and attitude of "l can and will do my very' best."

In accordance with Christian values and morality, the school aims to develop the whole person by endeavoring:

  • To foster religious education through religious instruction, prayer, pastoral guidance, liturgy, etc.
  • To provide quality education through emphasis on basic skills in a structured learning environment.
  • To encourage creativity spontaneity, questioning and analytical processes with flexibility to enable each student to reach his her potential.
  • To challenge the child to meet his or her potential.
  • To develop a balanced integration of social life through religious and academic education in order to allow tile child to function intelligently in a democratic society.
  • To instill positive mental attitudes toward educational and emotional development.

Through the enrichment of the curriculum, the school strives to motivate a child to recognize and develop his/her whole potential in a world of rapid change. The school curriculum is designed to provide the children with a variety of broad flexible experience that will enable them to become democratic, socially responsible and self-directed members of society. We attempt to make use of all available community resources and to acquaint tile public with the goals of the school. We attempt to encourage a mutual understanding between parents and the school in tile education of the child. We require continuous education of the staff by means of courses, reading, meetings, workshops, etc.

Parents are invaluable partners in the educational process of their children. Parents will send children to school using these guidelines:
  • Children are free of any communicable disease.
  • Children are neat, tidy and in correct uniform only (See uniform section of handbook).
  • Insure that their children have respect for themselves and respect for other students.
  • Insure that children respect all legitimate authority i.e., principal, all faculty members and other staff as well as guest speakers and all other persons in the school.
  • Insure that children are prepared for classes; all homework assignments completed neatly, dated and signed.
  • Children should be mentally alert and well rested

Parents are encouraged to foster a continuous relationship with the school by attendance
at Parent - Teacher - Conference, PTO Meeting, through communications and by supporting the activities sponsored by the school.
